Christine E. Moody
Christine Elizabeth Moody, 72, died November 22, 2003 at the Midland Hospice Care of Topeka.
The daughter of Leonard Andrew and Louise Hosmer (Schuyler) Johnson, she was born in Frankfort, KS on October 21, 1931, moving to Topeka in 1938. She was a 1949 graduate of Topeka High School.
Christine's life was devoted to her family, her friends, and her work. She loved her birds and her dogs. Chris was employed by the Topeka Police Department in Human Relations , retiring in 1987.
Christine Elizabeth (Johnson) Moody was married to Norman Dwight Moody of Arkansas City, KS, on April 14, 1951, in Topeka. They had been married 52 years, he survives. Survivors include daughters Nancy Lynn (Moody) Neiswanger, son-in-law William A. Neiswanger, and granddaughter Sara Ann Neiswanger; Susan Gail (Moody) Anderson, son-in-law Ronald G. Anderson, and grandson John Ryan Anderson, all of Topeka. She also is survived by a brother, Andrew W. Johnson, of Topeka, and a sister, Caroline L. (Johnson) Bickford, of Scottsdale, AZ. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard T. Johnson, of Topeka.
As a family, we wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Midland Hospice, and to the many family and friends who supported Chris. Each of you has been of enormous help to us. We love you all.
Funeral services will be at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel Wednesday November 26, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Christine will lie in state from noon Tuesday until service time at the funeral home. On-line condolences may be made at www. penwellgabel.com.
