Chester J. Park, 74, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2007. Chester was born December 12, 1933 in Greenleaf, the son of Chester R. and Mildred Park.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1983, retiring at the rank of Gunnery Sergeant, a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
Survivors include a sister: Cheryl (Randy) Gregg; children, Laurence Park, Leslie (Mike) Manion, Whitney (Zelda) Park, John Park, Linda (Saied) Yazdani; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and loving nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road, Topeka, Kansas 66604 or the American Red Cross, 1221 SW 17th, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
