Chester R. "Chet" Anderson, 82, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday June 12, 2007 at Stormont-Vail Hospital.
He was born December 31, 1924 in Clements, Kansas the son of Arch F. and Alice Marie Martin Anderson.
Chet was a brick and stone mason. He owned and operated his own masonry contracting company many years. He was a member of Brick Layers Local #3 and #15.
He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII.
Mr. Anderson was well known as Santa Claus during the Holidays. For 25 years he could be found at White Lakes Mall and later West Ridge Mall.
He married Tommie Alice Marie Segrist March 25, 1945. She survives. He was preceded in death by his son Rick Anderson in 1996. Other survivors include his daughter Vicki Shannon and her husband Gaylon, a sister, Juanita Price, and a brother, Donald Anderson all of Topeka as well as 5 grandchildren Rhonda Anderson, Nikki Gerhardt, April Carpenter, Ashley Reynolds, Wendy Erdman, nine great grandchildren, Austin, Lindsey, Lori Ann, Kaylee Marie, Evan, Zachary, Cole, Jessica, Trenton and one great great grandchild Braden.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene.
