Charley E. "Jake" Mosher, 68, of Topeka, died, Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at Eventide Convalescent Center.
He was born November 21, 1937 in Atchison County, Kansas the son of Frank S. and Margaret M. Bacon Mosher. He attended schools in both Colorado and Kansas.
Mr. Mosher worked for local farmers, a machinist for Rockwell and We Mac's in Atchison and a roustabout for a Midwestern summer carnival company. He also worked for a bridge construction crew, a greens keeper for the Blights Golf Course as well as a machinist for a cotton-gin plant in Blights, California and after working 10 ½ years he retired from George's (chicken) Processing Plant in Springdale, Arkansas.
He married Beverly Strally in Atchison and later divorced.
He had a significant relationship with Pearl Gabrick.
He married Marilyn Long in Horton and later divorced.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Brace, Topeka; Tamela Richie and husband Jeremy, Lincoln, NE; and one son Terry Mosher , Waukegan, Illinois, seven grandchildren, David, Dominique, Lisa and Clarence, all of Topeka; Charlene and husband Anthony, Springdale, Arkansas, Jessica, Nathan, and Summer of Lincoln, NE; and two great-grandchildren Jasmine and Michael of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Other survivors include one sister, Doris Anderson and husband Gerald of Holton, three brothers, Max Mosher and wife Rita of Atchison, Marvin "Burr" Mosher and wife Barbara of Chloride, Arizona, and Melvin "Butch" Mosher and wife Wilma of Topeka and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cremation is planned. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in the Larkinburg Cemetery.
