Charley "Bud" A. Faulk, Jr., 86, of Topeka, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 21, 2014.
Charley was born on December 19, 1927, the second of seven children born to Charley A. Sr. and Irene (Hestand) Faulk in Topeka.
He graduated from Washburn Rural High School and served his country honorably in both the Merchant Marines and the United States Army.
Charley worked for over 33 years as a chief engineer for KSNT-TV in Topeka and retired in 2002. He was a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club and he loved to watch Nascar and basketball from his favorite recliner at home.
Charley was married to Emma Lou "Pat" Martin; this union was blessed by five wonderful children.
Survivors include two sons, Robert M. Faulk and Patti Albin of Topeka and Greg D. (Heidi) Faulk of Carbondale; two daughters, LaVonna Bacon of Topeka and Debby Boeh of Independence, MO; eight grandchildren, Trisha McCall, Rayna Droge, Jessica Stein, Stephanie Faulk, Robert Ewing, Jared Boeh, Kristian Boeh, and Gregory Faulk, Jr; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl (Ruth) Faulk and William "Bill" (Phyllis) Faulk; two sisters, Norma Lou (Floyd) Henderson and Ruth Ann (Bob) Akard Zimmerman.
Charley was preceded in death by his former wife, Emma Stiegemeyer, one son, Charley A. Faulk III, two sons-in-law, Rod Bacon and Jerry Boeh, his parents, and two sisters, Ella Marie Hendrix and Naomi "Toni" Adams.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 26 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Charley will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 25 at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00p.m.
