Charles T. Harrison, 66, of Topeka, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015.
If you are reading this, my "Life Train" has arrive at its destination.
I boarded my life train in October, 1948 at Caney, Kansas joining my parents Helen and Preston along with my siblings Bill, Don, Charlotte, Jim, Allen and Peggy. My brother Bill was the first of my siblings to get off the train at too young of an age follow by my parents then my brother Don many years later. The train carried me through life experiences through schools at Coffeyville Community College and Washburn University. Both Colleges were separated by my tour in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Alfred A. Cunningham and the USS Ramsey off the coast of Vietnam.
I settled in Topeka following graduation from Washburn working at Famous Brands, Physio Technology, Northrop Grumman and finishing with the Postal Service.
It was in Topeka where I met the love of my life, Beth Summerville, boarding the train, followed a few years later by daughters Abigail and Megan. I was blessed with the arrival of my granddaughter Hailee on my life train this year. For those of you staying on the train, enjoy the ride, life has been good, I will greet you at your destination.
