Charles J. Keller, 88, of Topeka, died on Saturday, July 12, 2014 in Topeka. He was born January 19, 1926 in West New York, New Jersey, the son of Niklaus and Marie (Guhrer) Keller. He attended St. Peter's Prep School in Jersey City, NJ and obtained a Master's of Pharmacy Degree from St. John's College of Pharmacy in New York, New York. He was a Registered Pharmacist for the VA for 26 years.
Charles was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the DAV and the Knights of Columbus.
Charles married Dolores Hayden on January 19, 1952 in St. Louis, MO; she preceded him in death in 1971. Charles married Anna Mae McKenna on August 8, 1972 in Kingman, KS; she preceded him in death on April 26, 2012. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Alan Renz, one brother, Niklaus Keller, and a son-in-law, Boston Ingraham.
Survivors include their children, Catherine Ingraham of Springfield, MO, Gerri Keller of Hatboro, PA, Charles (Sylvie) Keller of Orlando, FL, Catherine (David) Walter of Topeka, KS, Joseph A. (Candy) Keller of Las Vegas, NV, Barbara (Brian) Renz of Oklahoma City, OK, Edward G.(Jennifer) Keller of Topeka, KS and Marti Keller and husband Bert Plants of Morgantown, WV; 27 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 17 at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3601 SW 17th St., Topeka. Cremation will follow the service and private inurnment will take place at a later date in Leavenworth National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00p.m. on Wednesday, July 16 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka with a rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Disabled American Veterans, Building #24, RM 106 G, 2200 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66622 .
