Charles Franklin, 80, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
He was born January 20, 1943, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Charles and Frances (Grigsby) Franklin. Charles was employed by the Goodyear for 38 years, retiring in 2003.
Charles was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 534 of Topeka.
Charles married Patricia Franklin on February 11, 1963 in Kansas City, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his son; Robbie Franklin, father; Charles R. Franklin, mother; Frances Franklin, sister; Charlotte Sharp.
Survivors include his wife; Patricia Franklin, son; Charles R. (Diana) Franklin, daughter; Angela Welsh, son-in-law; Jeffrey Welsh, brother; Randy (Marcia) Franklin, grandchildren Christopher Franklin, Conner Welsh, Tanner Welsh, Alex Franklin, Heath Franklin, nieces; Mary Franklin, Katherine Franklin, nephew; Charlie Franklin.
Charles enjoyed reading, being a MPH Boy Scout Troop 46 Leader, SCUBA diving, boating, water skiing, softball and coached football, wrestling and track at MPH for 14 years. He also loved K-State Football, as well as the Green Bay Packers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3601 SW. 17th Street, Topeka, Kansas 66604. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Topeka, Kansas. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am with the Rosary being recited at 10:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1800 SW Stone Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66604, or Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
