Charles E. Price
Charles E. Price, 57, Topeka, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at his home. He was born Nov. 5, 1946, in Cleveland, Miss., the son of Roscoe and Maudie Lewis McKnight Price. He served in the Army in Vietnam. Mr. Price was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and he did volunteer work at Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center. He married Martha A. VanDyke on June 23, 1997, in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include seven sons, Isaiah Price, Topeka, Charles Price Jr. and Patrick Price, both of Memphis, Tenn., Craig Price, Detroit, Michael Price, Atlanta, Vosheem Noland, Chicago, and Steven Price, Denver; three daughters, Michelle Price, Detroit, and Veronica Miles and Kimberly Weber, both of Memphis, Tenn.; and his mother, Maudie McKnight, Cleveland, Miss. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth. Mr. Price w ill lie in state after noon Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to an Educational Fund for Isaiah Price and sent in care of Capital City Bank, S.W. 29th and Wanamaker Road, Topeka, 66614.
