Charles F. Connell, Sr., 89, died Thursday, November 25, 2004 at a Topeka retirement center.
Mr. Connell was born May 12, 1915 in Chicago, IL, the son of Andrew J. and Louise M. Fischer Connell. He attended Mount Carmel High School in Chicago and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He was a veteran of World War II, and former post commander of the Deek-Taxit American Legion Post in Chicago. He retired from Defense Contract Administration Services in Van Nuys, CA after 31 years of service.
He was married to Virginai Mabel Dugal, August 26, 1950 in Dolton, IL. She preceeded him in death in April. 2003. Survivors include: Daughter and son-in-law Carol and Harry Heusted, Topeka, Son and daughter-in-law Chuck and Renelda Connell, Hoyt., Grandchildren: Jessica Connell and T.J. Wedeking.
Cremation is planned. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
