Charles Francis Steele

Charles "Chuck" Steele, 89, of Topeka, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023.
He was born November 3, 1933, in Burlington, Kansas, the son of Lloyd and Bessie (Wright) Steele. He attended Burlington High School.
Chuck was Serviceman with the Kansas Gas Service for 30 years.
He had a passion for weight lifting, playing golf, building and restoring cars. Chuck enjoyed building things and built his very first club house when he was nine years old.
He will be remembered as the best father and step-father there ever was.
Charles married Kathryn Marie Wade in 1985 in Topeka, Kansas.
He leaves behind his wife, Kathryn "Kathy" Wade; daughters, Deb (Walt) McFarland and Cindy (Jerry Jones) Martin; two sons, Bryan (Cyndi) Steele and Robert "Bob"(Robin) Steele; his two step-daughters, Michele (Guy) Burt and Cara (Edmond) Wade; grandchildren, Amber Perry, Kevan Steele, Walt (Mac) McFarland, Kelly McFarland, Haulston Steele, Saylor Steele, Saige Steele and eight great-grandchildren; and his step-grandchildren, Bryce Yandell, Kaycee Burt, Dylan Ford, Sydney Ford, Kayla Ford and three step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Nellie Birk, his brothers Lloyd, Bobbie, Jimmy and Dennis and a son, Dan Steele.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Topeka Cemetery Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson: NE Kansas Parkinson Association PO Box 67342, Topeka, KS 66667-0342 http://www.nekpa.com.
