Charlene Cooper, 81, Kansas City, MO, formerly of Topeka, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 at her home.

Charlene was born April 5, 1932 in Dodge City, the daughter of Raymond and Opal (Nicolay) Briggs. She graduated from Topeka High School.

She was a bookkeeper at Samaritan Nursing Home, retiring in 1980.

She was a former member of First Church of the Nazarene in Topeka.

Charlene married Calvin Wesley "Wes" Wilson. He died in 1961. She married John W. Cooper in 1980. He died in 1981. Survivors include sons, Larry W. Wilson, Wichita, Byron W. Wilson, Wakarusa; daughter, Ann Davis, Shawnee; grandchildren, Larry W. Wilson Jr., Brandy L. Crump, Maj. Byron W. Wilson, Jr., Andrew C. Davis, Katie M. Davis; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial was in Topeka Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice or the University of Kansas Cancer Clinic.
