77, died Thursday, July 1, 2004 at Colmery-O'Neil VA Hospital in Topeka. He was born Decemeber 9, 1926 in Riley, KS to Cecil and Marguerite Deeds. John served in the US army during World War II. After serving he started a plubming company and was in the plumbing field for 40 years. This includes serving as plumbing inspector for the City Of Topeka for 6 years. During the early 1960's John was the captain of the Bellevue Nebr. rescue squad where he received many awards. He is preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Maddick Deeds; second wife Pearl Stuck Deeds and sons Charles Stuck and Robert Deeds and Brian Calderwood, his parents and stepfather Ralph Conwell, and his sister Mary Ann Deeds. He is survived by his wife Nancy; his daughters and husbands; Dawn Deeds-Rookstool and Alvin Rookstool, Kathy and Lyn Giboney, Kathy and Larry Hoshor, his stepdaughter Brenda and Gordon Hahn; 18 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. His brother Thomas Deeds of Bellevue, Nebr. and many nieces and nephews. Cremation is planned. Graveside services with military honors will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or to the Alzheimers Association. Penwell-Gabel Midtown Chapel is in charge of arrangments.
