Carroll D. Thomson, 80, of Topeka, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005. He was born Sept. 7, 1924 in Gatesville, TX, the son of Samuel D. and Eunice Vituria Logan Thomson.
He served in the Army Medical Corps during World War II. He was in the Naval reserve after World War II. He retired from USD 501 in 1986. He was a member of North Post #400 of the American Legion, Meadowlark New Voice Club, and charter member of 21st Century Club at Aldersgate Village. He volunteered at the Colmery O'Neil Veterans Administration Hospital and Meals on Wheels in Auburn, KS.
He married Camilla R. Christesen Oct. 16, 1946 in Osage City. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sherry Atwood and her husband Larry, Auburn; and Cathy Jo Bartlett, Topeka; one sister, Ann Evers, Pearland, TX; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Thomson was cremated. A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at Auburn Christian Church. Inurnment will follow in Auburn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m., until service time Tuesday, August 30, 2005.
