Carolyn Ellen Peck, 89, Topeka, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022.
She was born June 22, 1932, in Saint Joseph, Missouri, the daughter of F.J. and Edna Mae (Coats) Crabb.
Carolyn grew up in a loving home "on the railroad" and in Fresno, California. Shortly after high school, she married her country boy sweetheart, James Blair "Bud" Peck, on June 16, 1951, at Our Lady of Victory Church in Fresno, California. Carolyn and Bud reared their five children in California and Topeka, Kansas. As the kids grew, Carolyn found time to work as a tax preparer and to dabble in her love of artistic painting and of course, playing lots of golf. Later years found Carolyn enjoying gardening, researching genealogy and traveling all fifty states and numerous countries with Bud.
Survivors include her children, Lynn (Dave) Pence, Nancy (Barry) Kennedy, Tom (Kennette) Peck, Cheryl Blasi, Dave (Rachel) Peck, her sister, Mary Alice Ochinero Barbis, nine grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bud Peck, brother, Paul Crabb, and son-in-law, Mike Blasi.
Visitation will begin at 10 am, followed by services at 11 am on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka.
