On Thursday, May 17th, 2007, Carolyn Clingan was called home to her Father in Heaven.
Born on July 30th, 1922 in Stephenville, Texas, Carolyn graduated from Birdville High School in Haltom City, Texas. She was married to Melvin Clingan on March 5th, 1943 in Fort Worth, and they shared 52 wonderful years together. Carolyn was a devout Christian, and lived her life loving the Lord first. Her faith and grace in the Lord could be witnessed every day through the extraordinary motherly love she showed her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William E. and Dora M. Davis; her husband, Melvin; her sisters, Denver Honey and Ozie Clark; and her brother, William E. Davis, Jr. She is survived by her children, Melvin Jr., David M., John T., Steven G., Betsy E., and Scott A. Carolyn had nine loving grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.
Carolyn will lie in state after 2 P.M. on Sunday, May 20th at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, and friends of the family are invited to pay their respects from 5-7 P.M. The service celebrating Carolyn's return home to her Heavenly Father will be at 10 A.M., Monday, May 21st, at Shawnee Heights Baptist Church. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
