Carole E. Roberts, of Topeka, passed away, Friday, October 1, 2004 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born in Litchfield, MN the daughter of Lars and Hedvig (Jackson) Almgren.
She was a graduate of Litchfield High School and has resided in Topeka since 1947.
Carole began her career as a traveling cosmetic sales representative for Richard Hudnut of New York. She became a Real Estate Agent in 1970 and continued in that capacity until her retirement in 2001.
Mrs. Roberts was a member of Seabrook Congregational United Church of Christ. She had volunteered on the Shawnee County Election Commission.
She was an avid golfer and KU Jayhawk fan. Carole was well known for her baked goods many of which she donated to the Topeka Rescue Mission.
She married David G. Roberts March 4, 1947. He preceded her in death February 13, 1970. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Carl Almgren, Vera Swanson, Fred Almgren, Lucille Jurgens, Walter Almgren, Dorothy McDoanld, Robert Almgren, Joan Ohlin, and Jerry Almgren. Survivors include, one son, George A. Roberts, Lawrence, KS, two sisters, Mary Ann Nesseth, Livonia, MI; Betty Lou Peterson and her husband Dick of Albuquerque, NM.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private inurnment will be at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery.
