Carol Ruth Yazell, 59, Topeka, passed away at a local hospital on Wednesday, March 25, 2005.
Carol was born August 25, 1945 in Hannibal, MO, the daughter of Carl and Ruth Monroe Lundberg. She graduated from Palmyra High School in 1963 and Blessing School of Nursing,in Quincy, IL in 1966.
She was employed at the Colmery-O'Neil V.A. Medical Center for 27 years and retired in 2003.
She was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and NASCAR racing. Carol and her husband loved County and Western Dancing.
She married Barry Lee (Butch) Yazell on December 31, 1967 at Quincy, IL. He died in 1999. Other survivors include her mother, Ruth Lundberg, Maywood, MO.; and a son, Scott Yazell, Topeka; sisters; Barbara Taylor, Quincy, IL; Jane Watters, Palmyra, MO.; brothers, Carl Lundberg Jr., Ft. Collins, CO; Robert Lundberg, Maywood, MO; Christopher Lundberg, St. Charles, MO; and John Lundberg, Peoria, AZ. and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service wil be held on Saturday at 12:30 P.M. at Trinity Presbyterian Church with burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Yazell will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 P.M. on Friday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M.
