Carol Edward Wadley, 92, Topeka, died Monday, March 3, 2008, at Aldersgate Village. Carol worked over 42 years with Santa Fe Railway in the Bridge and Building department, before retiring in 1976. The son of John and Dolly Wadley, Carol was born December 20, 1915, in Topeka. He married Thelma Beckley in October 1941. She died in 1985. He was preceded in death by two sons, Dale, in 1997 and Larry, in 2001, two sisters, Ruth Ragsdale and Francis Brower. He is survived by a son, Gary (Joan), Topeka; one brother, Jack, Hemet, CA; daughter in laws, Dianna and Carolyn; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Carol will lie in state after 12:00 noon Friday March 7, at Penwell- Gabel Mid Town Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Heart of America Hospice.
