Carol L. Sommers, 70, Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at a local hospital.
Carol was born July 5, 1938 in Abilene, the daughter of Edward and Lucille McCosh. She graduated from Chapman High School, and Kansas State University with a degree in Home Economics. She also graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Nursing.
She worked as a Psychiatric Nurse at the Menninger Hospital.
She was an active member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, Beta Theta Beta alumnae chapter and Grace Episcopal Cathedral.
Carol married Robert Sommers on August 22, 1964. He survives. Other survivors include sons; Brian Sommers, Topeka, Aaron Sommers, Atlanta, GA; daughter, Sarah Sommers, Berthoud, CO; grandchildren, Kyle Sommers, Ely Renzelman; step-grandchildren, Thayne and Danyon Miller; brothers, Ken McCosh, Don McCosh, Bob McCosh; and sister, Linda Sato.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Grace Episcopal Cathedral. Internment will be in the Chapel of the Resurrection Columbarium at Grace Cathedral.
