Mrs. Carol J. Keefover Murphy, 87, of Topeka, passed away, Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at Lexington Park Retirement Center.
She was born April 27, 1917 at Oketo, Kansas the daughter of Odis and Ruth Warner Keefover. She had resided in Topeka since 1929.
Carol worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company 26 years, before retiring in 1972.
She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Women of the Moose and Telephone Pioneers of America.
Carol was married to John C. Murphy December 21, 1946 in Topeka. He preceded her in death March 12, 2002. She was also preceded in death by a son George David Murphy in 1948. Survivors include eleven nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at Holy Name Catholic Church. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Murphy will lie in state after 12:00 noon Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
