Carol J. Meirink, a long-time resident of Overbrook, Kansas passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017.
Carol was born on September 30, 1949 to Floyd and Betty Aaron. She graduated from Belleville Township West High School in 1967. She married Jim Meirink in 1968.
Carol loved traveling, especially after her retirement from YRC Freight after 28 years, spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, and had a smile that could light up a room. A few words used to describe her include dear, sweet, beautiful, caring, wonderful, amazing, and one-of-a-kind.
Carol is survived by her husband, Jim of Overbrook, Kansas. Other survivors include their children, Daniel (Jacque) Meirink of Fontana, Kansas and Sheri (James) Martin of Overbrook, Kansas; three grandchildren, Alyssa Meirink of Overbrook, Kansas, and Ethan and Dylan Martin of Overbrook, Kansas; step-grandchildren, Carter and Issac Hall of Olathe, Kansas; her mother, Betty Aaron of Mountain Home, Arkansas; siblings Janet Pegg of Edwardsville, Illinois and Greg Aaron of Mountain Home, Arkansas, as well as many other extended family members.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Aaron.
Visitation will be Monday at 12:00pm at Penwell-Gabel Midtown Chapel in Topeka, Kansas with services at 1:00pm. Burial will immediately follow at the Overbrook Cemetery in Overbrook, Kansas.
There will be a memorial fund set up through the Kansas State Bank, 400 Maple Street, Overbrook, Kansas 66524. Contributions will be donated to various local organizations.
