Carol L. Rahberg, 83, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Midland Hospice House.
Carol was born July 28, 1928 in Lebo, the daughter of Lawrence G. and Fern L. (Watkinson) Bowlin. She attended grade school in Lebo and her family then moved to Topeka in 1942 where she attended Boswell Junior High and graduated from Topeka High School.
Carol retired from the Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services, where she was a secretary for over 30 years. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, Golden Spokes Antique Car Club and Topeka Genealogical Society.
On April 1, 1948, she married Edward W. Rahberg. He preceded her in death in 1994. Carol is survived by her children, Randall Rahberg, Topeka; Dixie Brennan, Kansas City, MO; sister, Darlene Rice, Burlingame; brother, Noel Bowlin, Weatherby Lake, MO; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a dear friend, Karen Meyer, along with special friends, Shirley and Don O'Toole, and Linda and Don Gifford. She was also preceded in death by brothers Richard and Lawrence Robert Bowlin; and sister, Betty Jean Dowell.
A funeral ceremony will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Carol will lie in state after 3 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.
