Carol Kay Wadley, (nee Kendall), 72, Topeka, died Monday, December 29, 2008 at Aldersgate Retirement Community in Topeka.
Born October 20, 1936 in Kansas City, Kansas, she was the only child of Col. Harry A. Kendall and Alta B. Garrett-Kendall. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1954; graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics from Washburn University in 1958, and did graduate work at Emporia State University.
Carol worked at the Topeka Public Library and later at Stormont-Vail Stauffer Health Sciences Library for 35 years.
She was married to Larry E. Wadley, deceased, of Topeka in 1957. They were divorced. She is survived by two sons, John Wadley, Dallas, TX and Mark Wadley, New York City, NY; one daughter, Janet Peterson and husband Mark, Topeka, and two grandsons. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Diane Wadley, Berryton; brother-in-law, Gary Wadley; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Wadley, all of Topeka; and other extended family.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Berryton. Carol will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 p.m. on Friday and visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
