Carol (Anderson) Jackson, 83, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
She was born December 17, 1938, in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Howbarth and Eva (Smith) Anderson.
She graduated from Monroe High School. She continued her education at Rochester Institute of Technology before it was commonplace for women to attend.
Carol traveled extensively to Africa, Europe, Canada, South America, Latin America and New Zealand. She was known by family, friends and strangers for her generosity and her love of animals.
She was a tremendous mother to her children. She was the best homemaker and cherished her time she spent raising her children. Carol also treasured her time as a Librarian at local churches and public libraries.
Carol had a strong faith. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.
She was an avid reader, bird watcher, loved music, flowers, and her family.
Carol married the love of her life Donald Henry Jackson Jr. on a snowy January 28, 1962 at North Baptist Church in Rochester, NY, and is survived by her husband Donald Jackson, Laura Hendren and Steve Farrell, David and Stacy Jackson, and their children, her grandchildren, Henry and Evan Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howbarth and Eva Anderson, and her sister Sandy Gardner of Macedon, NY.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at First Southern Baptist Church, 1912 SW Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66604. Private burial will take place in Colorado.
