Carol J. Deen

Carol J. Deen, 61, of Richmond, MO, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2008 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born on July 17, 1946 in Beloit, KS, the daughter of Samuel W. and Clarice Collins Motes. Carol was an Army veteran, serving 22 years before retiring at the rank of Lt. Col. She worked at the Ray County Hospital in Richmond, MO as a Nurse Anethesis for 10 years. She was a member of the V.F.W. Carol married Wallace A. Deen on October 5, 1974. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Steven M. Motes. Survivors include her siblings, Glenda Eckart of Wamego, KS, James Motes of Stillwater, OK, Larry Motes of Hays, KS, Dennis Motes of Van Buren, AR, Michael Motes of Concordia, KS, Marian Sibley of Beloit, KS, Marcia Chapman of Topeka, KS, and Kathryn Motes of Beloit, KS. Cremation has taken place. No memorial services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice Care, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
