Carl L. Pape, 83, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015.
He was born April 24, 1932, in Kansas City, MO, the son of Arthur and Edna (Harwood) Pape. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1953. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Carl was employed by the Steel Fixture Manufacturing Company of Topeka for many years and later worked for Delta Designs Ltd., also of Topeka.
Mr. Pape was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Topeka.
Carl married Mildred Louise Smith on September 12, 1954 in Topeka; she survives. Also surviving are son, Michael Pape; three daughters, Susan Neff (Wayne), Carla McInteer (Chris), and Barbara Pape; his sister, Janice Hyde; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur H. Pape and mother, Edna L. Pape.
Carl enjoyed boating and fishing, he loved to travel and spending time with his family. He was a great storyteller.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22 at the Mount Hope Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka. Private entombment of his cremated remains will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in the Old Abbey Chapel.
