Calvin Marion Glenn

Calvin Marion Glenn died January 31, 2025 in Topeka’s Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born to Donald Glenn and Velma D Barrett on January 22, 1931 in LaJuana, Colorado. His younger sisters are Clara (Markus) and Phyllis (Swetnam).

The family lived on a ranch north east of Sugar City, Colorado. He graduated from Ordway High School in 1949. Calvin enlisted in the army in 1955. After leaving eastern Colorado he worked for Santa Fe Railroad as a track inspector and other miscellaneous jobs. This job brought him to Topeka, Kansas where he worked as a PA at the Topeka and Osawatomie State Hospitals. He then went to work at KDOT as an accountant until he retired. He did many handyman jobs after retiring.

Calvin married Dorothy Gregory and together had Linda in Ordway, Colorado. After Dorothy passed, he married Francis Ellen Taylor in Topeka. Together they had Bill, Cindy, John, and Anailesa. After Francis passed, he married Sylvia Jane Evans. His two step daughters are Susan and Sarah. Calvin has 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren giving him the name “greatest grandpa.”

He is preceded in death by Donald, Velma, Francis, Sylvia, Bill, John, and Connor.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10am, February 19, 2025 at First Church of the Nazarene in Topeka Kansas 1001 SW Buchanan. A visitation will take place at the same location one hour prior. Following the service there will be an 11am graveside at Mt. Calvary, and a meal will take place at the church after burial.
