REV. WILBUR NOBLE
Rev. Carl Wilbur Noble, 82, Berryton, died Friday, July 13, 2007 at Midland Hospice House.
He was born in Montrose, MO, the son of Carl Sanders and Bessie E. Durnwood Noble. He graduated from Montrose High School, and received AA and AB degrees from Southwest Baptist College and Pittsburg State Teachers College.
Rev. Noble pastored Baptist churches in Missouri and started Baptist churches in Kansas and worked in construction for 50 years while pastoring full time. Some of the communities he pastored in are Arma, Columbus, Edwardsville, Eudora, Eureka, Lawrence, Kansas City, and the Topeka area.
He served in the US Army during WW2.
He married Barbara A. Roberts in1948. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Judy Burger, Janice Grantham, and Joy Essman; one brother, Glen Noble; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at First Southern Baptist Church, Topeka. Interment with military honors will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Rev. Noble will lie in state after church Sunday until 5:00 pm Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 pm Monday at the church.
