Bruce N. Schultz, 73, Topeka, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at a local hospital.
Bruce was born September 16, 1935 in Quakertown, PA, the son of Newton O. and Aurelia G. (Kehm) Schultz.
He graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School, East Greenville, PA in May, 1953. He enlisted in the U. S. Air Force in September, 1953 and served for 26 years, retiring in September, 1979 with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.
After retirement, he worked briefly for Bendix Corporation in Columbia, MD and as a Calibration Technician for the Precision Measurement Equipment Lab at Forbes Field, Topeka until his second retirement in May, 2007.
Bruce married Phyllis I. Thomas on September 22, 1956 in Salina. She survives. Other survivors include daughter, Lisa M. Schultz, Hutchinson; son, Jeffrey J. (Mary) Schultz, Olathe; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Matthew) Lawrence, Winfield, Aaron C. (Jennifer) Lamer, Salina, Travis R. (Nicole) Lamer, Hutchinson, Christine E. and Jared T. Schultz, Olathe; great grandchildren, Hannah Lamer, Adriel and Jaxson Lamer, Grace Lawrence; sister-in-law, Mary Ann White, niece, Anita L. White and nephew, James D. White. He was preceded in death by two infant children, Marcia Sue and Robin James.
Graveside inurnment services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009 at Roselawn Cemetery in Salina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
Penwell-Gabel Mid Town chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
