Brian Carter Coker

Brian Carter Coker, 57, of Topeka, passed away September 23, 2013. He was born February 3, 1956, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of W. Ray and C. Frances (Carter) Coker.

He attended Topeka West High School, before joining the US Army. On August 31, 2013, in Topeka, he married Joyce Tabor. Brian worked as a remodeling contractor for Martinek & Flynn and loved to talk to his veteran friends about his time in the 82nd Airborne Division and his travels to New Orleans with Joyce.

Brian is survived by his wife, Joyce; and sister, Cheryl McGeer, both of Topeka. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Craig Alan Coker.

A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Mount Hope Chapel, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka, Kansas 66604. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Sunflower Health Care of Topeka, 2420 SW 17th Street, Suite 8, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
