Brenda Carol (Hay) Kelley, 64, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
She was born September 20, 1953, in Jos, Nigeria, the daughter of Ian M. and S. June (Bell) Hay. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee and a Masters in English as a Second Language from Kansas State University.
Brenda was an ESL teacher at Auburn Washburn Rural USD 437.
She attended Topeka Bible Church, Topeka where she was part of the women's ministries and the IF group.
Brenda married Larry Dean Kelley on December 27, 1975 at Hydewood Park Baptist Church in Plainfield, New Jersey. He survives. Other survivors include three children, Lorrel (Jason) Smith, Joshua A. Kelley, Timothy (Valerie) Kelley; her parents, four grandchildren, Michael Smith, Kieryn Smith, Isabelle Kelley and TJ Kelley and one brother, Bob (Amy) Hay.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Douglas, Norman and Alan.
A memorial ceremony will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at Topeka Bible Church, 1101 SW Mulvane, Topeka. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel.
