Boyd Everett Lindsey, 64, of Emporia, died on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

Boyd was born on August 29, 1949 in Kansas City, MO to George Lewis and Florence Marie (Cogan) Lindsey.

He served his country honorably in two separate tours of duty in Vietnam in the Army, the Navy, and the National Guard.

Boyd married Krista Lindsey on July 25, 1992 in Emporia, KS.

Survivors include his wife, Krista Lindsey of Emporia; son, Boyd Lindsey Jr; three daughters, Tina Joanne Ihde, Dena Lynn Craghead, and Jennifer Dawn Bell; 6 grandchildren, Samantha Ihde, Dallas Anderson, Izabella Lindsey, Dawnlynn Mickle, Dominic Mickle, and Taylor Percifield; one great-grandson, Ruben Aguirre; two sisters, Brenda McFarland Marie Beutler as well as numerouse nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Lewis Lindsey Jr..

Boyd's wishes were that his body be donated to science. A memorial service and inurnment of his ashes will take place at a later date. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
