Bonnie Jo Kleinschmidt

Bonnie Jo Kleinschmidt, 61, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005 at Midland Hospice House.

She was born November 11, 1944 in Hays, KS., the daughter of Lloyd and Norene Carley Davis.

She was a 1962 graduate of Plainville Rural High School. She then attended the Brown Mackie College in Salina, KS. She went to work as an office manager for a law firm in Oakley, KS for 12 years, worked as judicial assistant to Judge Corwin Spencer and later for Judge Mary Beck Briscoe with the Kansas Court of Appeals for 18 years. She began her position as judicial assistant to Judge Mary Beck Briscoe, U.S. Court of Appeals, 10th Circuit, in 1995. She was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church, Crestview United Methodist Women and Faith Circle.

She married John C. Kleinschmidt on September 5, 1964 in Plainville, KS. He survives. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Davis.

Other survivors include her mother, Norene Davis; a daughter, Susan Poling and her husband Jeremy; a son, Scott Kleinschmidt and his wife Penny; a brother, Gary Davis; three grandchildren, Christopher Kleinschmidt, Brooke Kleinschmidt and Alexandra Poling.

Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday Jan. 3, 2006 at Crestview United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, Monday Jan. 2 at the church. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
