Bonnie Bess Barber, 84 year-old resident of Atria Hearthstone, Topeka, Kansas, died August 12, 2007, at Stormont - Vail HeathCare Hospital. Born in El Dorado Kansas in 1922, she was the daughter of Cora and Clifton Healy. Graduated from El Dorado High School May 1940.Mrs. Barber was retired from a 40 year career as a Registered Nurse. She worked in several hospitals in California before moving to Kansas where she finished her career at Stormont - Vail. Preceding her in death were her husband, Albert Stanley Barber; her parents; and three siblings.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Lou Kasper and her husband Don of Topeka, Kansas; Dianne Lynn Sjulestad and her husband Bob of Mansfield, Texas; two sons, Paul Stanley Barber and wife Beverly of Sacramento, Calif.; Brian Lee Barber and wife Mary Lou of Roseville, Calif.; Six grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one brother, Carol Healy of Spring Hill, Kansas.
Bonnie always enjoyed a good cup of coffee with lots of sugar and milk. She also enjoyed a fast game of pitch, bingo, scrabble and any other game she could corner someone to play
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Inurnment will be in Circleville Cemetery, Circleville, KS immediately following.
