Bonnie (Boneta) C. Johnson, 76, of Topeka, KS, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 21, 2006.
Bonnie was born June 26, 1929 in Kendallville, IN, daughter of Harold and Hazel Aumsbaugh.
She was united in marriage to Wilbur A. Johnson on April 29, 1949. They resided in LaPorte, IN where they raised their three children. In 1984, Bonnie and Wilbur moved to Topeka, KS where she worked for Doorstep for many years serving as office manager. Bonnie's compassion and dedication for those less fortunate will be remembered by all who met her.
She is lovingly remembered with joy and happiness and missed dearly by her husband of 56 years, Wilbur, Topeka, KS; three children, Rick Johnson and wife, Kathy, LaPorte, IN, Cindy Johnson-Kelly, Colorado Springs, CO, and Todd Johnson and wife, Janet, Macomb, MI; four grandchildren, Jill, Scott, LaRee, and Kyle.
A funeral service for Bonnie will be 10 a.m., Friday, February 24 at University United Methodist Church, Topeka, KS. Entombment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery Mausoleum. She will lie in state at 12 noon, Thursday, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 that evening.
