Bobette Lowe Garretson, 71, of Olathe, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 after a long illness.
She was born November 13, 1944 in Topeka, the daughter of Robert Lee and Betty Ruth Lowe.
Bobette attended Crane Junior High and graduated from Topeka High School in 1963. She attended Washburn University and later went to work for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas, retiring in 2001 after 34 years of service. Friends and family were the most important parts of her life and she will always be remembered as a very selfless person. Her smile could light up a room and her creativity will be greatly missed by her entire family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Kelly Johnson (Stephen) of Olathe; three grandchildren, Tyler Essman, Spenser Essman (Erin) and Emily Johnson; a brother, Michael Lowe (Sondra) of Topeka; a niece, Fallon Lowe and a great nephew, Cameron.
In keeping with Bobette's wishes, cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m.,Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 S.W. 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604. Interment will follow in Topeka Cemetery.
