Bob Anderson, 92, formerly of Topeka, KS passed away on May 26, 2018 at Hickory Pointe Nursing Home in Oskaloosa, KS.
He was born on October 1, 1925 in Topeka to George Orville and Faye Jane (Miner) Anderson. He grew up in Topeka and graduated from Topeka High School and Washburn University.
He retired from the United States Department of Agriculture in January 1981, where he held the position of Assistant National Supervisor in the Poultry Division. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and photography following his retirement.
He married Ida Panzino on February 12, 1966. She preceded him in death on February 11, 2016. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tamara Anderson; and a brother, O. R. Anderson.
He is survived by children, Bob Anderson, Jr. and Sandra Anderson; sister, Sue Iverson; grandchildren, Erin Anderson, Jenny Anderson, Amanda McKinley, Emily Sowerbrower, Robert Sowerbrower; five great-grandchildren; four nieces; and one nephew.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Mount Hope Cemetery, 17th and Fairlawn. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Abbey Chapel at Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hickory Pointe Nursing Home in Oskaloosa, KS where George was given highly skilled and compassionate care.
