Blanche Marie Myers, 85, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, January 29th, 2005 at the East Ohio Regional Medical Center in Martins Ferry, Ohio. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on January 30th, 1919 to John William & Mary Eliza (nae Mannell) Summers.
Blanche worked for Hallmark Cards as an inspector/supervisor in the late 1940's and early 1950's. She spent several years as the Head Cook at Wanamaker Elementary School, and Dietician for USD #437, Auburn-Washburn School District.
She was a member of Harbor of Hope Assembly of God in St. Clairsville, Ohio, where her son is the pastor.
She married Virgil Francis Myers July 25, 1941. He preceded her in death November 7, 1975.
She is survived by a daughter, Norma Greene (and her husband John) of Phoenix, Arizona, and one son, Rev. Dean C. Myers (and his wife Terri) of St. Clairsville, Ohio; her brother, Edward Summers, Bradenton, FL; two sisters, Doris Connell (and her husband Jack) Topeka; Wynnfred Stewart, Elizabethton, TN; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth "Bette" VanDalsem; two brothers, Elmer Summers and Bobby Summers.
Mrs. Myers will lie in state after 12:00 noon Wednesday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the visitation will be held from 5:30pm until 8:00pm Wednesday. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00am also at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
