Blanche Marine Floyd

Former Topeka resident, Blanche Marine Floyd, 89, died Saturday, April 12, 2008 in Mansfield, Texas, where she lived with her daughter Sheila. Blanche was a longtime employee of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas and lived in Topeka until her retirement.
Blanche was born in Ottawa, Kansas, to Patsy and Ira Walker. In the past, Blanche had been a member of the Eastern Star organization and was a former president of the PTA. She was an avid reader and loved having her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren around her.
Blanche is survived by her daughters Janet Badke and Sheila Raven of Mansfield, Texas, and her son, Terry Floyd of Boise, Idaho; three sisters, Juanita McCoy and Lucille Walker of Topeka, and Mildred Koons of Jasper, Arkansas. She had four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank American Hospice for their excellent love and care for her in her final hours.
Blanche will be buried at West Lawn Memorial Gardens in Topeka without services. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
