Billy Mitchell, 56, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012.
Billy Carl Mitchell was born January 28, 1956, in Louisiana, Missouri, son of Wilson and Mildred (Crowder) Mitchell. He graduated from Louisiana High School in 1974 and Linn Technical College in 1976.
Billy served in the US Air Force until he retired due to a service connected injury in 1978.
He is survived by his brother, Mike (Vicky) Mitchell, Topeka, sister, Tracey Mitchell, Louisiana, MO, and two nephews, Ryan (Nicole Dial) Johnson, Topeka, and Keith (Melissa) Johnson, Springfield, MO. Billy was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, at Eventide Convalescent Center, Topeka.
Billy will lie in state from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka.
