Billy G. "Bill" Lindsay, 84, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at a Topeka hospital. He was born August 7, 1928 in Lyndon, KS, the son of Donald A. and Abbie B. Jensen Lindsay. He retired from the American National Life Insurance Company after 20 years of service.
Bill married Olive W. Lindsay on September 11, 1948 in Kansas City, KS. She preceded him in death on August 23, 2001. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Denise J. Specht in 2003 and his two sisters, Doris Doyle and Betty Arbic. Survivors include two sons, Michael W. Lindsay of Webb City, MO, Dennis G. (Deb) Lindsay of Topeka, two daughters, Mickey (Bob) Foster and Cynthia A. (Jim) Streeter, both of Topeka, eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Bill will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library, 1515 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604.
