Billie M. (Elliott) Pohl, 82, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Midland Hospice House.
Billie was born December 1, 1933, in Hinton, OK, to Homer and Gladys (Lewis) Elliott. She graduated from Hinton High School in 1950 and Southwestern College in 1953 with a bachelor degree. Billie met Marvin E. Pohl at a YWCA dance and were married on April 20, 1957 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was a life-long member of Lowman United Methodist Church for 55 years. Billie enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and traveling. Marvin and Billie traveled to every state except North Dakota and Alaska.
She is survived by her loving husband; daughter, Janet (Greg) Brunner, of Glendale, CA; grandson, Matthew Brunner; and sister, Donna Hunt, of Odessa, TX.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Elsie Stout.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016, at Lowman United Methodist Church, 4000 SW Drury Ln, Topeka, KS 66604. A luncheon and visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka.
