Mr. Bill Miller, 88, of Topeka passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2004 in a local hospital. He was born on April 3, 1916 in Pittsburg, KS the son of Purl and Orilla Light Miller.
Bill graduated from Pittsburg High School and Manhattan Bible College. He retired in 1976 from the Santa Fe offices after 34 years of employment. Bill was a member of the First Christian Church.
On May 24, 1942, in Topeka he married Jean B. Palmer. She survives and lives at home. Mr. Miller is also survived by his daughter Susan Fickler, his sons Roy Miller and Stuart Miller, sister Mary Martin and brother Scott Miller. Left behind are also seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Mr. Miller will lie in state on Friday, May 14, 2004 beginning at noon; the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park.
