Beverly Jean Adams, 72, of Wakarusa, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010 at Aldersgate Village. She was born October 9, 1938 in Topeka, the daughter of William A. and Edith T. (Hinkle) Adkins.
She graduated from Topeka High School in 1956 and later obtained a BA in Arts from Washburn University in May of 1997. Beverly was a committee secretary for the state legislature for many years and a homemaker. She was a very active member of Potwin Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and Elder. She was also a long time member of the Y.W.C.A. and served as a library volunteer at Potwin Elementary School.
Beverly married Kenneth E. Adams on October 20, 1955 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include their children; Dan and Cindy Adams, Cheryl and John Martin, Steve and Barb Adams, Mike Adams, Rhonda and Marcus Hassen, grandchildren; Erica, Rebecca, Lacey, Melissa, Christine, Dallas, Kacy, Aliya, Emma, great-grandchildren; Madeline, Brenden, Dustin, Caleb, Ashlynn and her siblings; William "Bill" Adkins, Jr. and Gary and Mary Adkins. Beverly was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Adkins.
Private graveside services will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Potwin Presbyterian Church. The family would like to thank Westminster Place at Aldersgate and Hospice Care of Kansas for the care given to Beverly during this difficult time.
