Beverly Ann Wright, 70, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 1, 2016, at her home.
Beverly was born May 7, 1946, in Stillwater, OK, to Buford and Dofa (Dennis) Reynolds. She grew up in Derby, KS, later moving to Topeka, KS where she worked and raised her family alongside her husband, David. Beverly was an active and successful sales professional with Princess House, and sold real estate with Coldwell Banker. In the early 1970s, she opened her home to unwed mothers while her husband, David served overseas in the military. Beverly also volunteered with Battered Women's Task Force. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to the zoo, watching old westerns and horror movies, and cheering for the Chiefs and Royals. After years of struggling with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Beverly discovered Facebook where she found her voice and a way to connect with the people she cherished and the issues that were important to her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, David L. Wright, who always called her "Angel"; three daughters, Shelly K. (Alan) Hoopes of Henderson, NV, Laura A. (Robert) Lorson of Topeka, KS, and Jennifer L. (John) Forrester of Topeka, KS; and seven beloved grandchildren, Logan, Tanner, Kenzie, Jennifer, Blake, Regan, and Campbell.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dennis Reynolds of Tomball, TX; and first grandson, Justin James Hoopes.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
