Beverlee J. Goodman,77, of Topeka, passed away, Monday, October 4, 2004 at her home.
She was born November 14, 1926 in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Max and Charlotte Solar. Beverlee was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Des Moines, Iowa and attended the University of Nebraska.
Prior to her marriage, she worked for DECCA Records in Kansas City, Missouri. On July 16, 1954, Beverlee married her beloved husband, Harold in Des Moines, Iowa. He preceded her in death March 30, 2004.
During her life in Topeka, Beverlee was an active volunteer with Let's Help, Meals On Wheels, Topeka State Hospital, Topeka Shawnee County Public Library and Temple Beth Sholom.
In her spare time, Beverlee combined her love of cooking and poetry to create a rhyming cookbook for her children. She also authored a book of poetry entitled Rhyme and Reason.
Beverlee is survived by her three children, Robin and her husband Craig Maxon, of Topeka, Kansas, Marcy Hootner of Overland Park, Kansas, and Mark Goodman of Dallas, Texas and her grandchildren, Chandler and Morgan Maxon, Jessica Hootner and Matthew, Michael and Rachel Goodman. Beverlee was loved and will be missed by all of her family and friends.
Private graveside services will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
