Beulah Irene Tenbrink, 91, of Berryton, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021.
She was born January 27, 1930, in Alta Vista, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur and Zelda (Furney) Heideman. She graduated from Alma High School in 1949.
Beulah began her working career as a phone operator and keypunch operator. Later, she worked as a school bus driver for the Shawnee Heights School District and was head of maintenance at Berryton Grade School. In addition to the school, she was also a rancher, farmer, and loving homemaker.
Beulah enjoyed painting and woodcrafts.
Survivors include three children, Deb (Dennis) Wyckoff, Gary Tenbrink, Joe (Gina) Tenbrink; eight grandchildren, Christie, McKinlea, Lindsay, Nick (Susie), Sarah, Kelsey, Kyle, and Luke; great-granddaughter, Rylin; sisters, Ardyce Kuhn and Shirley Stuewe; sister-in-law, Marion Orton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Robert "Bob" Tenbrink in 2000, her parents, Arthur and Zelda Heideman, and siblings, George "Pete" Heideman, Melvin "Ike" Heideman, Lila Mae Werst, Guy Orton, and Wilma Wenderot.
Beulah's family expresses their sincere appreciation to Prairie Wind Senior Home and all the caregivers their mother encountered in her life for the kindness and care they provided her during her time with them.
A Funeral Ceremony will be 10:00 am Friday, December 31, 2021 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka. Interment will follow at Alma City Cemetery, in Alma. Beulah's family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the funeral home.
