Betty Louise Waterman, 71 of Topeka, was called home Monday, November 19, 2007 after an extended illness. She was born on a farm near Wheaton, Kansas on April 5, 1936. She was the daughter of Ralph and Minnie Teske, and the beloved sister of Jean Venneberg. She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1954 and soon moved to Topeka, Kansas where she worked for the Kansas Highway Patrol. It was a job she enjoyed and met several life-long friends.
She met her soul mate, Dale Waterman, and they were married for over forty-nine years. She became a homemaker and raised five children. Betty was a very creative person with many hobbies such as gardening, tole painting, wood carving and other crafts. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was involved in many activities. She was well loved by friends and family and will be deeply missed.
Betty is survived by her husband Dale Waterman of Topeka; son Robert Waterman and wife Tina of Topeka; son Randy Waterman and wife Lori of Topeka; daughter Brenda Snedden and husband John of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter Cynthia Waterman of Topeka; son Christopher Waterman and wife Brenda of Port Angeles, Washington; sister Jean Venneberg and husband Bob of Onaga, Kanasas; seven grandchildren: Travis, Eric, Cody, Rebekah, Kyle, Ashley and Sean.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 731 SW Buchanan, Topeka. She will lie in state after 2:00 p.m., Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
