Betty Lou Whitmore Betty Lou Whitmore of Topeka, Kansas passed away on January 25, 2011, in Sun City, Arizona, at the age of 87. She was born on July 26, 1923 in Salina, Kansas to Paul Homer and Grace Dillingham McCoy Cibulski. She graduated from Topeka High School and Clark's Business School and worked for Santa Fe Railroad for over 25 years as a teletype operator. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 59 years, William Edward Whitmore, and sister, Jo Ann Cibulski. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Morris of Mesa, Arizona, and a son and daughter-in-law, Dan E. Whitmore Sr. (Cheryl) of Mesa, Arizona; four grandchildren, Dan E. Whitmore Jr. of Peoria, Arizona, Jennifer Urrea of Gilbert, Arizona, Christopher Morris of Mesa, Arizona, and Jason Whitmore of Mesa, Arizona; five great-grandchildren, Amelia, Javier, & Gabriella Urrea, Arielle & Roman Whitmore; brother & sister-in-law, Paul H. Cibulski Jr. (Joyce) and sister, Vera Godlove, of Topeka, Kansas. The last six years she has spent with her companion and friend, George Bick, together in Surprise, Arizona. Graveside services for family and friends will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka, Kansas 66604-2454. Donations can be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children at (800) 241-4438. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
